After an experiential marketing activation or pop-up, customers want to evaluate success using a number of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) dependent on the objective of the activation. For some, overall sales during a pop-up shop activation may be the key metric, but for others, focusing on brand activation and awareness, other KPIs like attendance, booth visitors, and retention time give a clearer view of effectiveness. Today’s blog will be going over the KPIs and potential ROIs involved in experiential marketing and activations with your Steel Space Concepts Experiential Shipping container unit.
A great way to interact with customers as a food related brand or business is to serve geographic areas and reach new demographics with the use of a food truck, however, did you know that our custom shipping container units can be used as an alternative? This month’s blog post will examine the advantages that our units have over traditional food trucks in relation to deployment, available space, equipment customizability and more.
There are multiple reasons as to why our clients choose to purchase one of our pop-up shipping container units over renting and vice versa. Reasons include activation duration, budget, locations and the overall intended purpose of the activation. This blog post will examine those reasons and guide you as to which solution is most appropriate for your event.

Origins of Experiential Shipping Containers
Over the last 10 years, we have developed a robust, reliable and durable product. Our experiential units can be modified and adapted to the needs of each client offering customization in terms of its structure, design and technology.
Hydraulic systems use pressurized fluid to accomplish work with only a small amount of force. By integrating hydraulic mechanics into modified shipping containers, Steel Space Concepts provides versatile promotional spaces at the push of a button!
Dear fellow marketers, today, we’ll be examining some of the perks and advantages of using Steel Space Concepts’ shipping containers for experiential marketing and brand activation events.
Mobility and Deployment Flexibility
The main advantage of using a container for experiential marketing is the mobility aspect. With our containers, you can get to different locations both quickly, and with ease throughout the span of one or multiple days. The SSLite series, pictured below, is especially effective when frequent venue changes are required. With the ability to be hauled by a pick-up truck, and easily deployed by our electrical leg system, the SSLite model is a favourite among our clients.
In addition, our solutions have a quick set-up time. Our standard units have hydraulic doors and leg systems built-in designed to make the load-in/load-out process as quick and efficient as possible, and our SSLite series have electrical legs and doors that are easily operated by a single person. We invite you to watch our videos where you will see the complete set-up process of both an SSLite unit:
“They did not know it was impossible, so they did it.”
This quote from the American novelist Mark Twain is a perfect illustration of Steel Space Concepts' desire to meet the industry’s highest expectations and the types of situations we might face throughout a project process. One specific project comes to mind when we think about the many challenges we have faced throughout this past year.
This project, for a German airline, had a very tight delivery time of 10 days. Due to a difference in time zones, we encountered additional communication difficulties with the client, which added to this already daunting challenge.
Container customization at its best

Today we’ll be going over most of our clients‘ favorite part of the project; deciding on how to customize the container. This stage of the project is very interesting for us as no project is ever the same. Some clients prefer to build the concept on their own and then have us execute their plan, others prefer to work on a collaborative basis with us in order to come up with the best possible outcome, and others ask us to design the entire concept and propose different alternatives that they can then choose from.
